Chiapas has a great variety of culture, traditions and natural landscapes that will leave you with your mouth open and will make you want to return, among them the Sumidero Canyon, which in 1980 was declared a National Park.
To visit the Sumidero Canyon you must get to the Magic Town of Chiapa de Corzo, a very colorful town located 15 kilometers from Tuxtla Gutierrez. This beautiful town will make you fall in love with its Parisian style architecture and where you will feel welcomed by its inhabitants.
You must arrive at the pier where the boats leave, upon arrival you will be told about the safety measures to begin the exploration. Departure times begin at approximately eight in the morning until four in the afternoon.
When you arrive at the sumidero canyon, you will notice two large walls that begin to cover the landscape. Between the canyon there is a great variety of vegetation that cover them, where you can see large crocodiles and spider monkeys jumping from one tree to another.
The Sumidero Canyon has five viewpoints: La Ceiba, La Coyota, El Tepehuaje and Los Chiapas, where you can enjoy a wonderful view and you can close your tour with a flourish.
We recommend renting a car, so that you have more freedom of movement.
