XCARET's "Festival of Life and Death" has the purpose of celebrating the tradition of "Day of the Dead", bringing it closer to Mexicans and tourists of the Riviera Maya making them know more about it. This festival is celebrated from October 30th to November 2nd every year.
This year marks the 13th edition of the Festival of Traditions of Life and Death and will feature the participation of the state of Zacatecas as guest of honor, where you can appreciate the proud traditions, typical clothing and food of this important mining state.
Among the activities you will be able to witness are:
Dance: Folkloric ballet, pre-Hispanic and contemporary dance, traditional rituals and festive dances.
Theater: Circus-theater, Clown theater, puppets, narrated theater and regional theater.
Music: there will be special guests from Colombia, in addition to the gala concerts with Eugenia León and Ely Guerra.
Exhibits, exhibitions and workshops: You will find dozens of altars of the dead, a gastronomic exhibition with the most representative dishes of Zacatecas and Quintana Roo.
